Destroy the ladders and bugbears as you stroll across the rampart. Simply press attack and the golem should kill anything it touches with its axe. Illius will now use his magic to animate the Shield Defender (golem) to force his way into the portal. The most awesome part of the game is this guy. Best use Zhai or Rannek to push move people into the pool and get the healing. The mage cannot take much damage before dying. Beware of archers with each new respawn if you are playing Illius. Kill Slaad quickly by shoving them into the pool. The key to the pool fight is to use Illius or who ever has the push move to shove dumb ass Slaad into the pool. Once the runes are all built, the pool will explode and kill all enemies on the screen as well as act as a spell of greater healing, restoring all your party's life to its maximum. Knock an enemy into it and it will build its power as shown in the runes inscribed over it. You'll head into another room with a magic pool. Don't miss the chest on the right side of the hall. Help comes from the Axe Knghts in Khelben's employ. Don't miss out exploring up and over the hall with the higher walkway before moving on. The next hall has more axe knights to help you out.

The next section is all about the fighting, so be prepared for it.Īfter the bugbear slingers, take the time out to break this wall to get a secret book. Have Illius take 'em down and guard to deflect their shots.ĭon't miss the secret wall on the way out of the room. You can't shvoe enemies off the balcony this time, but you can suicide and take them out the old fashioned way. Use Illius to whack their johnsons and move away from the melee bugbears so Rannek and Zhai and occupy their time. The next section is with some bugbears slingers across the room. The switch to turn off the flames is the same in both fire floor sections of the stage. Once the switch and fires are gone, the rest of the party will engage in some selective slaughter.
Potential name-level wizards' design note - why do you want to put a switch to turn off the flames at the bottom of your tower if you are holding out at the top of your impenetrable stronghold? Use the shadows in the wall recesses to hide Zhai then run past all the enemies to the next recess. Zhai needs to jump over the fires and reach the switch at the bottom of the floor to turn them off. Use shadows to hide and then run past the Slaad archers.
Clear the area by defenestration or by pushing them off the balcony.

Head in with a hero and tackle the ladders in the windows quickly. The animated armor in the next room will be allied with you, but that doesn't mean that they can help you with the siege ladder problem. Whack the ladder, then the bugbear, and your party can continue down the stairs. Some Gauntlet style action here, with more enemy bugbears showing up if the scaling ladder is not destroyed. But he should've raised shields and fired the photon torpedoes (full spread) at Caminus before the dragon touched down. Don't get us wrong, we like Captain Picard. Kill the ladder or you'll be swamped with smelly ass bugbears.Īfter the blah, blah, blah from Khelben, you're headed into action.
